You can fine-tune some performance settings of your website to help the site load faster, or for analytics scripts to load more quickly.
To manage your website's performance settings:
- Select the Settings tab at the top of your Websites app.
- Select Performance on the left-hand sidebar.
Under the Manager Performance section, you can click the toggle switch to enable or disable the following settings:
Prevent "flash of unstyled text" |
Adobe Fonts web fonts can be accessed in the design panel to allow greater control over the display of text. Since web fonts are not installed on your website visitor's computer, they must first be downloaded before they can be rendered. If text is displayed before the font is downloaded, it will be rendered using a fallback system font and then re-rendered once the font has loaded—web designers sometimes call this the "flash of unstyled text." This can be prevented by hiding all text until the web font is downloaded or a timeout of 3 seconds occurs. |
Analytics scripts in the document head | Analytics services that use asynchronous scripts often recommend that the tracking script be placed in the head of the HTML document, to ensure that users who do not fully load the page get counted. Putting the script in the head can incur the maximum number of simultaneous connections of the browser, so the preferred placement for performance is to place the script at the end of the document. This setting applies to Google Analytics and Woopra. |
