The Image Collection is the best place to manage your entire image library, bulk-upload images, or bulk-delete a large number of images at once. Whenever you upload an image to your website, it will also be saved in your Image Collection. Even if you delete an image from a page on your site, the image will still be saved in your Image Collection.
The Image Collection has several tools to manage your images:
- Bulk-upload images
- Delete images
- Bulk-tag images
- Search for images
- Adjust sitewide image quality and compression
To access your Image Collection:
- Navigate to the Collections tab at the top of your Websites app.
Bulk-upload images
Use the upload field located in the top-left corner to upload images from your device to your Image Collection. You can either drag and drop images into that upload field, or you can click on it to open your device's file manager.
Once uploaded, the images will populate in the Image Collection, with the most recent image at the top.
Delete images
To delete a single image from your Image Collection:
- Hover your cursor over the image.
- Click the overflow menu in the top-right corner, then select Delete from the menu.
To bulk-delete images:
- Check the box in the top-left corner of each image you would like to delete.
- Click the red Delete button that appears at the top of the Image Collection. This button will only appear after at least one image has been checked.
Bulk-tag images
You can add tags to your images to help filter them in the search function (see the section Search for images below). To add tags to multiple images in bulk:
- Check the box in the top-left corner of each image you would like to tag.
- Click the Tag button that appears at the top of the Image Collection. This button will only appear after at least one image has been checked.
-
Add in the tag names into the pop-up window, click the Add button. After you've added all of your tags, click Save.
To remove tags from images in bulk, check the box in the top-left corner of the image(s), then click the Untag button at the top of the Image Collection. Note: This will remove all tags from the image(s).
Search for images
When using the Image Collection to look for an image, you can narrow down your search by setting filters. Click inside the Filter images search bar in the top-right corner, and you can filter your search by the image's primary color, or by the tags that you have added to the images (see the section above, Bulk-tag images, to learn how to add tags).
Use the slider bar on the top-left corner of the page to adjust how many images appear at once in the Image Collection.
Remember to click Load more on the bottom-left corner of the Image Collection to see additional images.
Adjust sitewide image quality and compression
You can adjust the overall image quality preset or individual compression settings for supported image types by clicking the overflow menu in the top-right corner of the Image Collection, then selecting Settings from the menu. These settings will apply to every image on your site.
You can adjust a slider bar to toggle whether you want your images to be more compressed for better page load speed, or for better image quality.
Toggle on the Advanced option to edit the individual compression settings for GIF, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP image types.
When finished adjusting the settings, click Save at the bottom of the page.
