Customers using Marketing 360® Email Marketing will want to verify their domain with DKIM records. This helps authenticate your emails, reduces the probability of email spoofing and spam, and improves email deliverability.
Need help? Adding DKIM records can be a technical process. If you require assistance, please contact our Support Team.
How to add a DKIM Record
IMPORTANT NOTE: DNS hosts have varied and often custom configurations, which means we're unable to provide exact instructions on how to setup a DKIM Record. However, instructions for how to add TXT records on popular DNS hosts are below.
- Log into your Domain Registrar and navigate to your sending domain.
- Create a new DNS record, and set the type to TXT.
- In a separate window, open Marketing 360 and visit Nurture > Settings > Sending Domains > View Details. Here, you will see your DKIM records for your sending domain. Need to add your sending domain? Learn how in the support guide "Manage Your Sending Domain".
- Copy the Name/host field and your Value field into the corresponding field in your DNS. For the TXT name/host, what you enter depends on your DNS host. Some require you to enter the full cm._domainkey.mail.example.com, others only need the cm._domainkey part.
- Enter the TTL into your DNS. We have set the default at the minimum value of 300, which corresponds to the time it will take to validate the domain (300 seconds or 5 minutes), though your system or IP may require a higher value (for example the minimum for GoDaddy is 600).
- Once you have added these records, exit out of your Authentication details page and click "Re-check Record" on the main Sending Domains settings page.
This will check your domain's authentication status to see if your DKIM record has been setup correctly. Seeing an error? Learn how to troubleshoot common errors in this support guide or reach out to support@marketing360.com for assistance.
