Customers using Marketing 360® Email Marketing will want to verify their domain with DMARC records. This helps authenticate your emails, reduces the probability of email spoofing and spam, and improves email deliverability per Yahoo and Google's email sender requirements,
Adding DMARC In Your Domain Registrar
IMPORTANT: The domain you're setting up may already have a record beginning with _dmarc. If so, you should probably skip the instructions below. Any valid existing DMARC configuration is acceptable for Yahoo and Google's email sender requirements, and making changes to an existing record could have dangerous consequences to your organization's email ecosystem. As with all technical things, get assistance if needed by contacting support@marketing360.com.
If you do not have a DMARC record, the one we are suggesting is the minimal valid record. It is safe to add without having any adverse impact on any of your organization's mail, and will be useful for establishing the legitimacy of the email you're sending.
How To Add a DMARC Record
- Login to your domain registrar.
- Create a new DNS record, and set the type to TXT.
- In a separate window, open Marketing 360® and visit Nurture > Settings > Sending Domains > View Details.
- Here, you will see the records associated with your sending domain name. Next to your sending domain, click the overflow menu and click View Details. Don't see a sending domain? Learn how to add your sending domain in the support guide "Manage Your Sending Domain".
-
Copy the DMARC Name/host field and your Value field into the corresponding field in your DNS.
-
Set a TTL value of at least 300 seconds (some hosts may require a higher value like 30 minutes).
- Save the new DMARC record.
- Once you have added these records, exit out of your Authentication details page and click "Re-check Record" on the main Sending Domains settings page. We recommend waiting for a few minutes to let the records populate.
- This will check your domain's authentication status to see if your DMARC record has been setup correctly. Seeing an error? Learn how to troubleshoot common errors in this support guide or reach out to support@marketing360.com for assistance.
Note: Each domain registrar has different settings for adding DNS records, so we are unable to provide support on navigating their platform. If you hit any roadblocks, then you can contact your domain registrar's support team, and reference the steps in this article.
