About the new email authentication requirements
Google and Yahoo’s new requirements primarily focus on implementing Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC), Sender Policy Framework (SPF), and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM). These changes are being made to improve email security and protect users from malicious messages.
STEP 1: Confirm you own a registered domain for sending emails
If you have never purchased a domain, such as a website or owned domain for sending emails, you will need to purchase a domain to meet the new sender requirements from Google and Yahoo.
- Do you have a website? If so, that is likely your registered domain.
- Do you send from an @gmail or @yahoo email address? You may not have a domain and will need to purchase one.
IMPORTANT: Domains must be registered for 30 days before use, so be sure to take action as soon as possible.
STEP 2: Review and configure the DNS (domain name system) for your sending domain.
Evaluate your current email authentication setup to determine if it meets the new requirements. Identify whether you have enabled DMARC, DKIM and SPF for your domain. To check if your records are setup correctly, visit our support guide "Check Your Domain Authentication Status".
Create a DMARC Record (REQUIRED)
Implementing DMARC is crucial for email deliverability. It verifies the authenticity of your emails and protects your brand reputation. Learn how to add your DMARC Record.
Create a DKIM Record - (REQUIRED)
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) adds an encrypted signature to your outgoing emails, verifying the integrity of their content. Learn how to add your DKIM Record.
Create a SPF Record (RECOMMENDED)
Sender Policy Framework (SPF) restricts unauthorized senders from using your domain to send emails, reducing the risk of spam, phishing, and spoofing. Learn how to add your SPF Record.
If you are uncertain about implementing these changes or lack technical expertise, please reach out to our support team at support@marketing360.com for additional guidance.
STEP 3: During the send process, ensure you are using an email address that matches your domain name in the “from” field.
For example, for the domain ‘marketing360.com’, emails should come from "[name]@marketing360.com".
We recommend staying proactive and prioritize the implementation of these changes before the deadline to ensure uninterrupted email communication.

How to purchase a domain
Purchasing a domain name is a simple and important step in establishing your online presence. To get started, first, brainstorm a few domain name options that represent your brand or business. Once you have a few ideas in mind, visit a reliable domain registrar, such as GoDaddy or Namecheap, and enter your desired domain name in the search bar.
The registrar will perform a quick search to check for availability. If your preferred domain name is available, you can proceed to the checkout page to complete the purchase. During the checkout process, you may be prompted to select the duration of your domain registration, often ranging from one to ten years.
